Comstor lifts data centre and Cloud practice to new heights

Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data centre, and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, says that its Comstor business unit has signed an agreement with X-IO. Effective immediately, Cisco resellers across EMEA have the ability to drive accelerated revenue via access to “Intelligent Storage Element” technology from X-IO.

The announcement ensures resellers can meet increased customer demand for cost-effective, high-performance storage solutions supporting data centre and cloud initiatives. The initial partnership is aimed at the UK, France, and Germany – and is expected to expand across EMEA during the next several months.

“Comstor offers a unique value proposition for resellers looking drive data centre and cloud practices. As one of the only distributors focused on Cisco technology, we’re eliminating multiple distractions associated with choosing the right competitive cloud platform. This translates into more time creating premier value-added data centre and cloud offerings – as well as faster revenue recognition,” said Russell Blackburn, Senior Director of Data Centre Solutions, Comstor EMEA. “But to accelerate both traditional enterprise data centres and cloud platforms, the infrastructure demands intelligent storage like the X-IO technology.”

With a foundation based on reliability, performance and scalability, X-IO’s Intelligent Storage Element (ISE), optimises price and operational efficiency. Solutions focus on both consistent and accelerated performance via hard disk drives (HDD), or real-time hybrid solutions with enterprise SSDs and HDDs. X-IO’s unique “Zero Touch” approach and five-year warranty significantly reduce storage costs – meaning strong customer environmental credentials via low power and cooling requirements as opposed to other high performance storage. Roger Walton, Vice President of X-IO EMEA notes: “Data centre and cloud infrastructures demand the highest levels of availability and reliability – and effective, intelligent, and flexible storage is key to making that happen. Backed by years of development and research, X-IO actually solves real-life storage problems facing partners and their customers globally. As a top distributor of Cisco solutions, Comstor is a core element of our go-to-market; this will allow more resellers seamlessly build successful cloud practices.”
