The AegisSAN LX 60-bay was designed by Qsan to address the IT administrator’s pressures around storage, archiving and protection of an ever-increasing amount of business data; most immediately the cost of footprint draining the IT budget. With this latest system, organisations can save up to 65 per cent in rack space and reduce power consumption by 50 per cent. The system offers unrivalled scalability and supports up to 240 hard drives for bulk storage to meet the requirements of big data applications.

The 60-bay series also includes rich virtualisation and data protection features. Its dual-active controllers plus fully redundant and hot swappable modules enable the system to provide true high availability for mission-critical applications. In addition the series supports VMware vSphere 5 VAAI (vStorage APIs for Array Integration), Citrix and Hyper-V for highly virtualised environments. The advanced built-in data protection features of the AegisSAN LX 60-bay storage system include QSnap, the copy-on-write snapshot, QReplica, remote replication via the built-in iSCSI port and BBM, the battery backup module to keep cache data safe in the event of a power outage. The system also includes highly desirable functions such as volume cloning, Windows VSS, and N-way mirror for all-round data protection.

“The ultra-high density AegisSAN LX 60-bay SAN enables massive data capacity applications to benefit from very high performance while also delivering great scalability and high availability,” said Daniel Lin, sales director at Qsan. “With hardware RAID and QiSOE, our AegisSAN LX 60-bay system offers outstanding IOPS and throughput, along with cache mirroring and online firmware upgrade and has been designed to include a plethora of features which guarantee reliability.“

The AegisSAN LX 60-bay series offers two interface options: iSCSI and fibre channel. Available products include the P600Q (with 2x 10GbE ports + 2x 1GbE ports per controller), F600Q (with 4x 8Gb fibre channel ports + 2x 1GbE ports per controller) and P400Q (with 6x 1GbE ports per controller).
