HP helps RoadChef bring its control back home

Centralised, standardised SAP® solution gives RoadChef, a Delek Group subsidiary, better control over its business processes.

HP has signed an agreement to implement the SAP® ERP application for UK motorway service areas operator RoadChef, a subsidiary of the Delek Group. The solution will provide RoadChef with the insight to better control and understand its customers and business, the operational efficiency to help ensure profit, and the adaptability to capitalise more quickly on growth opportunities.

Owned by the Delek Group, Israel’s leading energy and infrastructure company, RoadChef operates 20 motorway service areas throughout the UK. The company employs more than 2,400 people, handles 42 million customer visits each year and has a total annual turnover of around £200 million.
“We needed to optimise efficiencies and enhance finance and IT control across the business,” says Lior Dafna, CFO, RoadChef. “The implementation of SAP ERP performed by HP will improve RoadChef’s agility and responsiveness to business changes while reducing overall costs.”

Working with Xplore Consulting, an Israeli/French company specialising in retail applications from SAP, HP will implement an enterprise-wide information system to coordinate business processes across RoadChef’s retail, catering, financial and operational activities. Based on using SAP Best Practices packages to configure the retail software from SAP, this implementation will help RoadChef enhance control and reporting capabilities in every aspect of its business environment.

HP’s implementation of SAP software will help RoadChef transform the way the company uses retail information to stay ahead of customer needs. Combining core finance and controlling, sales and distribution, materials management and retail software from SAP will integrate business processes from planning and procurement to sales management, end-customer interactions and reporting. Additional custom functions will meet the company’s catering and cash-handling requirements, and the whole system will be localised for the U.K.

The implementation will reduce RoadChef’s dependency on external suppliers by enabling the company to maintain and further develop in-house accounting and information systems capabilities.

“HP has already successfully rolled out an SAP solution for the Delek Group in Europe,” says Shimon Abergel, account executive, HP. “Our overall expertise in implementing SAP solutions, and our experience in the world of retail and catering in particular, will help transform RoadChef into a significant enterprise using SAP solutions in a unified system capable of analysing complex data.”
