A major skills initiative has led to Proact being named Cisco Specialist of the Year.

Proact is a skills organisation for the sale, design and rollout of Cisco Unified Computing solutions. Proact has earned accreditations in both network and server technology, and has invested considerable resources over the past years – not least in 2012 – in training consultants in its specialist fields. Clear evidence of its initiatives and results was seen when Proact was recently named Cisco Specialist Partner of the Year in Norway.
Proact has run a strategic race, making it one of the market’s most talented organisations when it comes to integrated IT platforms in which the best technology is combined to form a single unit. These units are made up of all the infrastructure and virtualisation components required to supply IT as a service. This means that resources are used more efficiently thanks to the fact that the data centre is largely automated, freeing up administration time.

“We are seeing a lot of interest in these solutions and are working to land a number of major agreements with major national and international organisations. Customers want to see better utilisation of resources, more efficiency and greater business value from technology,” says Eirik Pedersen, Managing Director at Proact in Norway.

“It feels great to have received such an honour, given the major investments we have made in order to hone our skills. We must give credit to our many experienced and knowledgeable staff, who have demonstrated their commitment and devoted time and resources to being the best as far as this technology is concerned,” says Pedersen.

Together with technology partners, Proact supplies a set of standardised integrated IT platforms. These are offered as a solution for customers’ own data centres, as online hosting, or as a combination or hybrid of the two.

“Our approach makes building new environments and services easy and quick, with completely integrated and validated configurations. It provides scalable, flexible platforms which can manage the workload of a large number of business applications serving many thousands of users,” says Pedersen.

“The Specialist Partner of the Year award is new for this year. It is given to partners who have demonstrated a willingness and ability to make major investments in Cisco architecture. Sales, certifications, the number of dedicated resources and implemented activities are important criteria. Proact has particularly distinguished itself with its major investment in data centres, and it is an enormous pleasure to show them just how much their effort mean to us,” says Trine Strømsnes, Director of the partner organisation Cisco Norway.
