The new MobileSTOR SAS product line consists of the new 8-bay and 12-bay tower in either silver or black finish with either passive SAS controller (8-bay models only) or a SAS expander controller for scalability, performance, with up to 48TB total storage in a compact tower. Featuring a cost effective controller with up to 24Gb/s bandwidth per cables, users will be able to benefit from the high-speed performance that 6G SAS or SATA is able to provide without breaking the bank. The new passive SAS tower models include the MobileSTOR MS8X+ (Silver 8-Bay SAS/SATA) and MS8X+B (Black 8-bay SAS/SATA) and are a 8-bay tower with two mini-SAS connections, for high transfer rates of over 1000MB/s when used with a high performance RAID controller card. Utilizing high bandwidth mini-SAS (SFF-8088) cabling, the MS8X+ and the MS8X+B supports 6Gb/s SAS or SATA hard drives to deliver superior read / write speeds that are crucial in performance-driven environments such as high definition video editing industries and bandwidth extensive server applications. The mini-SAS ports combine eight hard drives connections into two, reducing possible points of failures, while preserving uninterrupted data transfer. When utilizing a SAS or SATA RAID controller, the unit could effortlessly support multi-streaming of compressed high-quality playback or a single-stream of uncompressed 10-bit high definition video under various RAID modes.

For users looking to expand their data constantly or who work on uncompressed high-definition 1080i, 2k, or 4k media, Sans Digital designed a high-capacity built SAS expander enclosure tower, the MobileSTOR MS8X6+ (Silver 8-bay SAS/SATA Expander), MS8X6+B (Black 8-bay SAS/SATA Expander), MS12X6+ (Silver 12-bay SAS/SATA Expander), and MS12X6+B (Black 12-bay SAS/SATA Expander). These SAS expander models allow for users to easily scale-up their total drive capacity by daisy-chaining multiple MS8X6+(B) or MS12X6+(B) model. Featuring mini-SAS SAS expander tower comprised of the same engines as the AccuSTOR / EliteSTOR enterprise level rackmount storage ensures that you will have reliability and performance. Utilizing the same engine structure as the high-end rackmounts, the MobileSTOR provides up to 24 Gb/s or 2400MB/s of data bandwidth to fulfill the most demanding application. The MS8X6+(B) and the MS12X6+(B) supports SATA or SAS 6Gbps hard drives and is backward compatible to 3Gbps SAS & SATA hard drives. By utilizing the latest SAS expander technology, MS8X6+(B) can supports up to 8 SAS or SATA drives while the MS12X6+(B) can support up to 12 SAS or SATA drives using only one mini-SAS cable. A built-in SAS expansion port enables the system to connect up to 5 unit together, or up to 60 HDD drives or over 240TB with daisy-chained together. With a high performance RAID controller card such as Areca ARC-1882X or LSI 9286-8E, the MS8X6+(B) and the MS12X6+(B) is capable of delivering over 1000MB/s in read/write performance with RAID controller. All necessary hardware comes standard including mini-SAS cable and hard drives tray modules. The MS8X6+(B) and the MS12X6+(B) is an ideal storage expansion solution for servers or high performance video editing workstations.

New MobileSTOR models support latest 4TB and support Windows, MAC and Linux operating systems. All models come standard with hot-swappable cooling, front dust-proof cover and enclosure handle. “As Sans Digital keeps expanding its SAS product line, we take every feedback and customer response very seriously,” said Stanley Chan, Director of Business Development at Sans Digital, “We listened to what our customers’ wanted, and now we have developed a fast and reliable SAS tower solution for creative professionals all over the world.”
