Skyera Inc. has added 25-year storage veteran Andy Tomlin to its management team as Chief Architect. Tomlin will lead the design, development and execution of the future product roadmap for the company’s skyHawk series of enterprise solid-state storage systems.
In addition to his service within the general storage industry, Tomlin has spent more than 10 years specializing in flash with over 30 flash-related patents in various stages of application. An expert in SSD architecture, Tomlin has developed seven different flash management systems at Sandisk, SandForce and Western Digital.
Tomlin comes to Skyera from Western Digital where he served as Vice President of SSD Development responsible for all firmware, software and hardware architecture. Prior to Western Digital, Tomlin was Vice President of firmware and software at SandForce, delivering two generations of SF1000- and SF2000-based products. Previous experience includes roles at Sandisk, Quantum, Maxtor and IBM.

Tomlin earned a Special Engineering Programme BEng from Brunel University in England.
