TDAzlan, the enterprise networking business unit of Computer 2000, has been appointed as an EMC® Velocity™ Distributor for EMC storage solutions in the UK. With effect from 14th May 2013, the full range of EMC products, including Avamar®, Data Domain®, and NetWorker® next-generation backup products, VNX™ and VNXe™ unified storage systems, Symmetrix® VMAX® and VSPEX™ Proven Infrastructure solutions, will be available from Azlan to UK resellers.
Azlan will be placing a specific focus on developing mid-market and SMB business with server and storage and infrastructure resellers. It plans to make the EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure solutions a key component of its Proof-of-Concept (PoC) lab and demo suite, which will also feature Cisco Data Centre and Unified Communications solutions, and technologies from VMware and Brocade.
Azlan is making a significant investment in driving EMC business with the appointment of Carl Douglas, former EMC Vendor Alliance Manager at 2e2. He will head a dedicated team that will provide focused support to EMC partners. At 2e2, Douglas was responsible for driving a major, long-term EMC business development programme and brings more than 20 years of experience in IT sales, vendor partnership and account management, including just under four years of working for EMC itself, to the team.
Azlan is planning to drive recruitment and on-boarding of additional SMB resellers for EMC’s Partner Velocity Solution Provider Programme, helping partners to achieve their initial EMC accredited status. Azlan also plans to create a Tech Select*1 incubation programme to provide focused support for resellers that want to take advantage of the additional business development opportunities and rewards available to partners that achieve higher levels of EMC accreditation.
Nigel Dunn, UK Director of Azlan, said: “With the existing skills we have in storage and backup and recovery technologies, along with our strong relationships with vendors of complementary technologies, Azlan is ideally-placed to help resellers working in the mid-market and SMB sectors grow their EMC sales. Our proven ability to recruit and enable new partners is a distinct value-add that Azlan can deliver to EMC and SMB resellers looking to develop their potential in the storage and infrastructure markets.”
As well as EMC-focused education and sales and marketing support, Azlan will be offering multi-vendor solutions featuring EMC technologies, Dunn added. “Opportunities are expanding in every direction around the data centre and with solutions like EMC VSPEX, resellers can deliver best-in-class storage virtualisation for their customers. We’ll be providing all the support they need to take advantage of the massive potential that EMC solutions present in this growing segment of the market.”
Terry Beale, UK Channel Director for EMC, stated: “Customers face huge challenges in dealing with the increasing demands on storage capacity and performance. This is a significant opportunity for resellers and one that Azlan, with its strong technical skills and unrivalled reputation in the UK infrastructure market, is perfectly positioned to address. EMC will be supporting Azlan‘s efforts to identify new partners and help them to develop their knowledge and go-to-market capabilities.”
