TeamDrive “Sync & Share” launches enterprise-class notification and VDI support

TeamDrive v3.1 enhances enterprise capabilities with Microsoft and Citrix VDI support.

Enterprise cloud synchronization provider TeamDrive has launched a new 3.1 version of its "Sync & Share" application, which delivers the first true enterprise-grade notification and enhanced support for VDI.

The new TeamDrive Notification Centre is a policy-driven engine that generates either desktop pop-ups or email messages based on a granular set of triggers and administrator-defined parameters.

“Unlike consumer products, our notification center provides a method of defining more rigorous notification policies based on keywords and other workflow parameters,” explains Volker Oboda, CEO of TeamDrive. “This allows individuals and administrators to design proper workflows instead of users becoming bombarded with email messages or other unnecessary updates each time any minor but often irrelevant change occurs.”
In addition, version 3.1 now supports network drive connections both via UNC shares as well as drive letters. This upgrade allows users on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and Remote Desktop Server environments (terminal server) to seamlessly use all TeamDrive functionality. Within a Microsoft Windows Terminal Server or Citrix XenApp session, a user can quickly create or use any existing folder as a shared and synchronized workspace with colleagues.

“With this upgrade, organizations with a mix of traditional desktops, laptops, VDI, terminals, tablets or even smartphones can all benefit from a single, secure and policy-driven collaborative environment,” explains Oboda. “TeamDrive now supports the widest range of devices and deployment types including on-premise, in-cloud and hybrid, allowing both our channel partners and enterprise customers to choose the method that best first their unique requirements.”

Lars Sommerfeldt, business development manager of Hamburg-Cloud is enthusiastic regarding the upgrade. He commented, “With the support for network drives in the new 3.1 version of Team Drive and our fact-based product Smart Sync, we can provide Hamburg-Cloud customers with a much-requested new feature without any downtime. Users of the virtual Smart Workplace can now benefit from offline editing of file and workflow is absolutely transparent irrespective of which device a user is using to connect to our service.”

TeamDrive Systems enables secure, cross-company as well as cross-platform collaboration with privacy, security and full self-administration. TeamDrive allows organizations to deploy a combination of cloud computing (private and public) and a choice of servers to allow unlimited scalability and independence. TeamDrive runs on Linux, Windows, Mac servers and clients as well as iPhones, iPads and Android Smartphones. By utilizing AES 256 encryption for all critical data, the “Sync & Share” service offers organizations more flexibility on where data is retained for the delivery of business continuity and contingency planning.
