Barracuda Networks appoints Markus Walcher as vice president of sales EMEA

New VP of sales EMEA at Barracuda Networks expands European business operations.

Markus Walcher has been appointed as the new vice president of sales EMEA at Barracuda Networks responsible for the European, Middle Eastern and African regions.


Walcher will be responsible for consolidating established markets within Europe, Middle East and Africa, with a focus on expanding the business operations into new markets with products for IT security and storage.


Walcher first joined Barracuda Networks through the acquisition of Phion AG in 2009 and has a wealth of experience within the security market, having graduated with a Computer Science degree and previously working for T-Systems, Systrex, and Phion AG since 2003.


Walcher was most recently the regional sales director for Austria, Switzerland as well as Eastern and Southern Europe. Through this new appointment he will be heading up the 54-strong sales team across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
