Acuutech invests in its customers with Exponential-e network expansion

Exponential-e has deployed a network expansion project for Desktop as a Service Cloud Provider & IT outsourcer Acuutech. The rollout will enable Acuutech to maximise the Quality of Service (QoS) that its customers can expect from its Infrastructure as a Service offering. After seeing an uptake in demand for its Infrastructure as a Service, Desktop as a Service and hosted application offerings, Acuutech decided to make investments in its own IT infrastructure to enhance the cloud services delivered over its hosted platform. Connectivity for these services required market-leading QoS and reliability. Following several years of referring connectivity business to Exponential-e, Acuutech looked no further when seeking private connectivity for its own IT environment.

Commenting on the project, Priti Mehta, Managing Director, Acuutech said: “We have been impressed by Exponential-e’s service from day one and have referred many clients to Exponential-e for connectivity services. We chose this trading relationship as it enables us to focus on delivering our core services and it has been a very reliable model for us. When the time came for us to improve our own infrastructure, Exponential-e was the obvious choice as we are fully aware of the reliability, convergence and availability Exponential-e’s network offers.”

Mehta continued: “It’s fair to say no-one offers the real-time network monitoring that Exponential-e does. Through its Ethernet Demarcation Devices (EDDs), Exponential-e can give us full visibility of our circuits, which are monitored 24x7. This is a real value-add and having that level of network visibility means we are able to proactively monitor our network. Ultimately, this means our cloud services are more reliable for our customers.”

The project also includes using Exponential lines for offsite backup and Disaster Recovery for clients who have in-house IT infrastructure which will be offered without touching the Internet. Exponential-e’s Head of Indirect, Dave Joplin, added: “Choosing a private connection means there is no need for Acuutech’s data to contend with public traffic, which not only allows for a more secure and reliable service, but also provides higher QoS standards. This was an essential requirement for Acuutech and one we knew we could deliver on.”

Each day Acuutech serves on average 5000 seats at any given time and has ambitious plans to grow its cloud offerings. The outsourcer works with SMEs and mid-size companies in the Media, Entertainment and Professional services sectors.
