tray.io, the company that makes connecting software services a breeze, has closed a $2.2 million Series Seed round of funding. The funding round was led by True Ventures, with participation from Redpoint Ventures and Angelpad. A global study of almost 2,100 contracts covering deals worth £7.8 billion suggests that Cloud-based services are failing to capture the popular imagination of UK businesses. It also suggests that organisations are increasing the level of IT services they outsource to improve service delivery, with many investing budgets saved over the past few years on HR, sales and finance support.

More than 40 percent of organizations expect the Internet of Things (IoT) to transform their business or offer significant new revenue or cost-savings opportunities in the short term (over the next three years), rising to 60 percent in the long term (more than five years), according to a recent survey by Gartner, Inc. However, those surveyed said that many of their organizations have not established clear business or technical leadership for their IoT efforts.
