Schneider Electric earns Nutanix Ready Core Certification

Eliminates typical compatibility testing by channel partners, reducing costs and time.

Schneider Electric's APC PowerChute™ Network Shutdown v4.2 power protection software has received Nutanix Ready Core Management & Operations certification for Nutanix ESXi and Hyper-V hyperconverged infrastructure deployments. The validation underscores APC’s commitment to delivering market-leading power protection, reliability and simplicity for increasingly sophisticated computing architectures.

The era of big data and the Internet of Things (IoT) has driven new demands for increased security, standardisation, redundancy and management at the edge. As a result, IT environments have become more distributed and virtualized than ever before. Modular and highly-scalable hyperconverged solutions respond to these challenges while offering lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and reduced time to market. However, these systems require higher levels of efficiency, standardisation and protection, and the process for ensuring system component compatibility can be complex, expensive and time-consuming for end user and channel organisations.

Powering hyperconvergence through partnership

The APC and Nutanix alliance delivers on the promise of hyperconvergence through a cohesive, total solution that simplifies typical IT commissioning and management, enabling a more optimised and efficient rollout of mission-critical systems. APC’s certification, based on stringent testing, pre-validates PowerChute’s joint interoperability with Nutanix solutions. This eliminates the onus of responsibility on channel partners for determining the compatibility and integration of components in a multi-vendor hyperconverged system, saving them time and money. In addition, PowerChute ensures a level of IT protection not previously available, providing customers with the certainty that their investment—and their data—will be secure during an outage.

“The growth of highly complex IT systems necessitates vendors work together to deliver efficiency, standardisation, agility and reliability,” said Rob McKernan, senior vice president, IT Channels, IT Division, Schneider Electric. “This certification and alliance partnership with Nutanix is part of APC’s long-standing commitment to providing customers with the most simplified, powerful and integrated components and solutions needed to support and achieve certainty in today’s digitally-enabled, increasingly diverse and highly-scalable IT architectures.”

Delivering trusted power protection

Applications and solutions trusted to enhance the Nutanix delivery infrastructure are awarded Nutanix Ready Core certification. Working in conjunction with APC uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and the APC UPS Network Management card, PowerChute Network Shutdown v4.2 provides graceful, unattended, network-based shutdown to protect data integrity and reduce system downtime when critical events such as extended power outages occur. The software, configurable via web browser interface, is highly scalable, supporting a virtually unlimited number of client systems with single, redundant and parallel configurations.
