FalconStor recently launched the industry’s first truly-horizontal converged data services platform, FreeStor® globally.  Chang’s appointment in Asia will help FalconStor to continue to accelerate the promotion of FreeStor and firmly position FalconStor as the premier, industry-leading software-defined storage player.

“I am honored to be a part of team that is innovating the future of software-defined storage,” said Chang. “FalconStor’s new FreeStor platform is helping companies manage massive data growth while saving the cost of acquisition and management – providing a unique horizontal architecture that opens up many new opportunities for companies to have a more flexible approach to data management.”

Chang is a former Gartner analyst where he specialized in data storage and big data in Beijing, China. With 20 years of experience within the data storage industry and a strong technical background, Chang published over a hundred impactful reports at Gartner, served many top-level global and Chinese enterprises on their data center planning and strategies, and worked closely with many worldwide and local storage vendors.  Prior to that, Chang worked as the Technical Director for Toyou Electronics and as an SI director for CA Technologies.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jimmie to the FalconStor global marketing team,” said Gary Quinn, FalconStor President and CEO. “He has an excellent record in enterprise IT -- having worked in both business development and technical consulting management.  As a former Gartner analyst, Jimmie gained an in-depth understanding of China's storage market, including the vendors and channel eco-system, which he can leverage for our global marketing operations.”

Chang’s responsibilities at FalconStor will cover a range of marketing activities, especially driving awareness, generating market demand, and expanding software-defined storage programs across Asian markets. He will play a major role in nurturing FalconStor’s commitment to building partnerships across Asia as well as driving related product launches and go-to-market efforts across FalconStor’s portfolio.
