Microsoft reinforces AI vision

Microsoft’s vision for AI (artificial intelligence) is about people. It’s about amplifying human ingenuity through intelligent technology that will reason with, understand and interact with people and, together with people, help us solve some of society’s most fundamental challenges. This was the message shared at an event in London by Harry Shum, Executive Vice-President of Microsoft’s AI and Research Group.


Cyient partners with Kii

Cyient, a global provider of engineering, manufacturing, geospatial, network and operations management solutions, has signed a non-exclusive business alliance agreement with Kii Corporation, a leading Internet of Things (IoT) solutions enablement platform provider, to explore, bid and address business opportunities around smart city deployments.




Wipro and Ramot at Tel Aviv University partner

Wipro  and Ramot, the Business Engagement Center at Tel Aviv University (TAU), have formed a partnership for joint research in emerging technologies. TAU is Israel’s largest institution of higher learning which is home to over 30,000 students studying in nine faculties, over 125 schools and departments across the spectrum of sciences, engineering, humanities and the arts.









Understanding mobile app psychology is paramount in moving IoT projects beyond the proof-of-concept

Understanding the psychology behind mobile application usage will prove critical in allowing a greater number of Internet-of-Things (IoT) projects to move beyond the proof-of-concept stage. This is according to Jamie Woolnough, Head of User Experience at DOGFI.SH Mobile, who states that creating engaging apps is key to IoT success and, in turn, greater returns for its investors.


Tieto and Espoo testing artificial intelligence

Tieto and the City of Espoo have initiated a unique artificial intelligence experiment. The experiment involves combining a huge amount of social and health data concerning every Espoo resident, and customer data relating to early childhood education from 2002 to 2016. The aim of analysing this mass of data is to identify new proactive means of targeting services to citizens, for example to prevent social exclusion.
