EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 unlocks optimisation performance

AI-driven data center management software releases stranded cooling capacity, removes power & thermal risk, and cuts cooling energy costs.

EkkoSense has launched EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 – a major new release of its 3D visualization and analytics data center management software. EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 unlocks support for the largest and most complex data center rooms, offering the optimization of hybrid liquid and air-based cooling within the same room, and introducing advanced power management capabilities including Three Phase Balancing and Residual Current Monitoring.

“EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 becomes the essential AI tool for the growing number of data center operators – including hyperscalers, colocation providers, and major financial firms – that are looking to balance legacy and digital transformation workloads with the accelerated demand for AI compute capabilities,” said EkkoSense CEO, Dean Boyle. “EkkoSoft Critical is all about helping our customers to optimize data center performance to previously unachievable levels. This latest release ensures they have all the capacity, power and cooling data and visualizations they’ll need to get there even more quickly.”

EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 takes data center management and optimization to the next level, ensuring real-time M&E data center capacity planning and power management for entire enterprise data center estates. Key highlights include:

Support for larger and more complex rooms – the latest release has been architected to deal with multiple UPS systems, multiple AC systems, and support for up to six PDUs for each rack. This directly addresses the needs of the largest data center operators.

Hybrid Air and Liquid Cooling Optimization – EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 uniquely recognizes the reality of today’s hybrid cooling requirements where liquid cooling typically also requires an additional air-cooling element. The software enables operations teams to track data center room cooling capacity whether you’re air-cooled, liquid-cooled or a hybrid of the two.

Full flex Capacity Optimization – EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 flexes to meet each organization’s specific data center capacity optimization requirements. Operations teams may require system power optimization, cooling optimization, or site power optimization – or any combination of these three options.

3-Phase Load Balancing – 9.0 features the ability to visualize 3-phase loadings on critical power distribution units to help ensure against unbalanced PDUs becoming inefficient.

Residual Current Monitoring – each of the rack PDUs supported within 9.0 now has Residual Current Monitoring support with monitoring and alerts to support expanding regulations in this area.

Clear Side Bar Visualization and Reporting – 9.0 side bars have been revised to provide clearer information and historical visualizations of peak values. Clear visuals and 1-click reports help operations teams to identify and unlock stranded capacity.

“One of the main barriers to effective data center optimization is the sheer complexity of working with traditional DCIM tools and CFD solutions. EkkoSoft Critical solves this by letting operations teams manage all their current and future capacity, power and cooling demands within a single, intuitive 3D visualization and analytics tool,” said Paul Milburn, Chief Product Officer, EkkoSense.

“This is particularly important as data centers increase in complexity and power usage with AI workloads that require more complex cooling requirements,” Paul continued. “The new release provides operations teams with a precise understanding of exactly what’s going on from an infrastructure and engineering perspective when they deploy AI services and start to run them at scale. So, whether it’s supporting larger data centers that have multi-power systems feeding into all their racks, or helping to bring all your hybrid, liquid or air-cooled capacity monitoring together, EkkoSoft Critical 9.0 directly addresses the challenges data centers face with escalating AI workloads and more complex cooling requirements.”
