By combining the best of two worlds – Snowflake’s Data Cloud, used by thousands of enterprises to mobilise data, and Mendix’s enterprise low-code application development platform – enterprises have new opportunities to unlock the value of data for their digital transformation initiatives, particularly those involving AI.

Mendix and Snowflake joint customers will benefit from a seamless end-to-end developer journey, including:

● Secure supported integration between Snowflake’s and Mendix’s technology stacks;

● Improved data exchange between Mendix and Snowflake in both directions;

● Making software development more efficient: data from Snowflake’s platform will be available as ready-to-use data components that can be combined with other reusable components packaged with Mendix or found on the Mendix marketplace;

● Improved mobile application capabilities to create apps for mobile devices using powerful data and its analytics;

● Cybersecurity and governance at all levels: security is built into Snowflake’s Data Cloud includes a multitude of features such as dynamic data masking and end-to-end encryption for data in transit and at rest. For Mendix, security, governance, data privacy, and compliance are also priorities in every aspect of the platform and applications built on it.

“The partnership between Mendix and Snowlake will help enterprises bring together two of their greatest assets: data and people who know how to use it. Snowflake’s Data Cloud accumulates infinite gems of data-driven insights. With low-code, we’re excited to be giving a diverse range of people across enterprises capabilities to access this wealth of actionable data and use it in applications that drive value,” says Jethro Borsje, Chief Ecosystems Officer at Mendix.

Enterprises worldwide are gathering and analysing more and more data, but unlocking its full benefits is challenging. Leveraging the vast potential of enterprise data requires the technical expertise of professional developers to access and integrate it into applications; but the context around what data matters and why belongs to subject matter experts and business owners throughout an organisation.

Regarding the potential to improve outcomes around AI software projects Robert Jones, Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Customer Success, Siemens Digital Industries Software said, “Everyone recognizes the potential of AI. But to get the value out of that technology, you need to leverage your data intelligently by integrating data and AI services into your software. The new partnership between Mendix and Snowflake helps our customers tap into their data’s full potential by building AI-augmented applications.”

Low-code allows multidisciplinary fusion teams, comprised of professional developers and line-of-business experts to collaborate on digital transformation efforts and get the most value out of an organisation’s data. The new partnership between Snowflake and Mendix makes it easier for wider teams to access the vast data through a low-code drag-and-drop interface to enable data-driven software development from business lenses.

“At Snowflake, we are building the future with data, AI, and apps. The new partnership with Mendix underpins this commitment to our customers,” said Tarik Dwiek, Head of Technology Alliances, Snowflake. “Together, we’re helping to bridge the gaps between data, business, and IT, and giving thousands of enterprises across the globe new capabilities to turn data into growth outcomes.”
