A compact cabinet measuring just 60 cm wide and 1.2 metres high and weighing just 145 kg is also being introduced to house the new power modules, enabling smaller applications with limited space to enjoy the same performance, flexibility and efficiency benefits that modular UPS systems already provide high-end data centres with.
The new cabinet can house up to five of the 2U modules, offering power ranges of 15-60 kW N+1 (for the 15 kW modules) and 25-100 kW N+1 (for the 25 kW modules). A maximum of four cabinets can run in parallel to increase capacity to 240 kW N+1 (for the 15 kW modules) and 400 kW N+1 (for the 25 kW modules).
Up to seven larger 42 kW power modules can be installed in a standard Multi Power cabinet, offering total capacity of 252 kW N+1 in a single frame. As with the new compact chassis, up to four cabinets can be paralleled together, delivering a maximum power rating of 1,008 kW N+1 in a single system.
Space-saving combination cabinets containing both power modules and battery shelves are also available for applications needing to balance high power density with a limited footprint.
The official UK launch of the extended Multi Power range will take place during leading trade show Data Centre World at ExCeL London on 11-12 March. Demo versions of the new modules and cabinet will be available to view on the Riello UPS stand D920.
Leo Craig, Managing Director of Riello UPS, commented: “Our extended and enhanced Multi Power range guarantees data centres and other mission-critical sites scalable, secure and high-quality power.
“With the introduction of new power modules and a compact cabinet, we are broadening the market for modular UPS and enabling smaller applications to enjoy the same benefits as data centres and similar large-scale projects.
“Our modern way of life increasingly depends on ‘Internet of Things’ applications, edge computing and micro data centres to deliver low latency connectivity. Our Multi Power range provides these applications the installation flexibility and maximum availability they rely on to perform.”
The extended Multi Power range incorporates all the characteristics and benefits that have already made it a best-seller.
Capable of exceptional operating efficiency of up to 96.5% in online dual conversion mode, it also offers users a special Energy Saving Mode that delivers 95%+ efficiency even when carrying loads as low as 20%, minimising wasted energy across all load levels.
The Multi Power offers outstanding installation flexibility too. Operators can size their system correctly at installation then “pay as you grow” by adding additional power modules, battery units or cabinets as required to increase capacity, redundancy or autonomy. This minimises the initial investment and maximises total cost of ownership.
All power modules are hot-swappable and easily accessible from the front of the cabinet to ensure unrestricted, downtime-free maintenance and servicing. They also feature three speed-controlled fans that automatically adjust depending on the load.
While the UPS incorporates a user-friendly 7-inch LCD touchscreen display panel and comes with a full range of communications slots and ports for remote monitoring and networking.
