R_Block & DREAM form partnership

Giving developers reputation control and make the decentralised identity reality.

Two blockchain start-ups have come together to give the developer community control of their professional reputations and ultimately build a blockchain CV. To this end, DREAM and R_Block have agreed to share identity and reputation data in pursuit of the shared goal to create the decentralised identity.

R_Block uses peer-to-peer proofs and work references to collect skills data and turn proven work histories into a blockchain-based CV that belongs to the user, not a third party platform. DREAM is underpinned by an open blockchain reputation system and uses AI to scope projects and bring together teams of freelancers to work on blockchain initiatives across every sector.

As a result of this partnership, users of R_Block will be able to take their proven and validated professional credentials, such as work references, validated skills and university records, onto the DREAM ecosystem to demonstrate their viability. Advisors and freelancers working through DREAM will be able to take their achievements to R_Block for validation and so create a blockchain-based and portable CV.

“With visions for the future of work and decentralised identity that align, this is a natural partnership for us. Both companies believe freelancers should retain complete ownership of their reputation and work identity,” said Luke Shipley, R_Block co-founder. “We see DREAM as a positive contribution to the community. Like us, DREAM believes in open systems, eradicating silos and providing free flowing information. Together we can really help bring about the decentralised identity.”

The whole team has a combined goal of pushing forward open and standardised reputation systems.

“We have attracted a deep pool of highly-vetted, experienced blockchain experts onto our DREAM platform who collectively have worked on thousands of projects worldwide,” said Richard Foster, DREAM founder and CEO. “Thanks to this partnership we can bring trust and credibility to every team hire - the client can see exactly who they are working with and trust in their work from day one, while freelancers can build their reputation with every project.”

DREAM and R_Block were brought together through mutual advisor Fabian Vogelsteller, long term open source developer, author of Ethereum’s Mist browser and the Ethereum Wallet. Working with Vitalik Buterin he proposed the ERC20 token standard and identity standard ERC725.

"I wholeheartedly encourage collaboration within the community and the different platforms. Open identity and reputation systems are essential to give back control to the user and increase trust and transparency for everybody. Users should be able to take their data everywhere, and outlive any platform,” concluded Vogelsteller.
