Security for Storage delivers early detection of threats

Bitdefender has launched Bitdefender GravityZone Security for Storage to protect enterprises against threats that can rapidly spread through the corporate infrastructure via Network-Attached Storage (NAS) and file-sharing systems.

This new add on module offers real-time protection for Network-Attached Storage (NAS), Nutanix Acropolis File Services (AFS) and file-sharing solutions (like Citrix ShareFile) compliant with the Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP).

Due to its highly configurable nature, it enables administrators to quickly define policies and exclusions, set up default action for infected files, create custom reports, and trigger real-time malware-detection notifications. The modular architecture lets customers add a virtually unlimited number of Internet ICAP servers on demand to support the increasing number of scan requests as their workforce and data grow.

Security for Storage has been validated with Nutanix® Acropolis File Services (AFS) and Citrix® ShareFile, and it supports ICAP-compliant NAS solutions by Dell, EMC, IBM, Hitachi, HPE, Oracle, and others. For enterprises that have a variety of ICAP-compatible devices, GravityZone can protect the entire multi-vendor NAS estate from the same deployment, helping reduce the cost of storage-security infrastructure.

“Digital transformation and expanding collaboration in the workplace creates growing demands on shared storage systems,” said Harish Agastya, VP, Enterprise Solutions at Bitdefender. “GravityZone Security for Storage protects NAS and file-sharing platforms against increasingly sophisticated and prolific cyberthreats, while ensuring uninterrupted operations and minimal management overhead.”

Security for Storage is available now as an add-on module to Bitdefender GravityZone endpoint and cloud-workload security products, including Bitdefender GravityZone Advanced Business Security, Bitdefender GravityZone Elite and Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security. Together with these solutions, Security for Storage is easily administered using the same on-premises management console, which makes it fast to deploy and intuitive to use.
