Nexsan has appointed Mark Walker as Channel Sales Director for UK & Ireland. Walker is responsible for developing Nexsan’s channel presence and is committed to recruiting, enabling and activating partners across the region. The new appointment is in line with Nexsan’s ongoing channel commitment and growth, as the company looks to continually invest and strengthen its position. Nexsan offers partners the opportunity to increase profit margins through its suite of highly reliable, cost effective storage solutions.

Walker has over 25 years of experience in enterprise storage channel leadership. Before joining Nexsan, he worked at Kaminario where he established the UK & Ireland channel. Prior to that, Walker spent many years in Value Added Distribution, including holding EMEA roles at Avnet and setting up the UK arm of specialist distributor Commtech. With his background, experience and reputation, Walker will be joining the Nexsan team with the primary goal to develop the channel and grow sales in the region.

Nexsan’s award-winning partner programme provides Value Added Resellers (VARs) with enablement, training, deal registration, and engagement through the sales cycle and marketing support.

Walker commented, “Nexsan has a portfolio of tried-and-tested solutions that have a great reputation for innovation, reliability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). There are thousands of happy Nexsan end users across many different verticals. The market for data centre storage has been overcrowded for a decade or more, but recent vendor consolidation has left Nexsan in a strong position to gain a bigger footprint in the channel. We have some fantastic loyal VARs who have been with Nexsan from the start and we want to accelerate their growth, while introducing new partners to the profitable Nexsan opportunity. Partners typically tend to enjoy superior profit margins when selling Nexsan compared to rival vendors.”

The appointment of Walker follows the recent announcement of Assureon ® Cloud Transfer ™, Nexsan’s latest advanced archive storage system. The platform provides cloud transfer to and from an on-premises solution, allowing customers to utilise the best features of the cloud, while offloading cold data onto a secure on-premises hardware platform, for enhanced security and reduced IT costs. Over the past 12 months, the company has developed its product line offering a range of new services to meet growing customer demands.

Gregg Pugmire, SVP of worldwide sales and marketing at Nexsan added, “With his strong track record and unique channel knowledge, Mark is well suited to lead Nexsan’s channel strategy. We are always looking for the best ways to invest and grow market share and Mark will be a valuable addition in helping us to expand. The channel is critical and we are pleased to have Mark join our team, as we look to concentrate our efforts and grow our channel and customer base.”
