Tieto has had the overall responsibility for Region Sk?ne’s IT operations for many years, delivering end-user services with important healthcare applications. Now, Tieto will expand its delivery to include both application management and application development as well as platforms and infrastructure as a service to all operations and users. IT development and coordination of suppliers is included in the responsibility. The aim is to meet growing needs in areas such as e-health, where the demands from residents are always increasing.

Tieto has worked with Region Sk?ne for 40 years and is currently delivering IT services to all of Sweden's counties. The new agreement strengthens the company's position as the leading IT operator in the Malm? region.

"We are very pleased to extend our partnership in this manner. In the long term, this will lead to a continued development of the IT environment and a modern platform for operating systems in accordance with the county’s needs. The aim is to provide the region with services that contribute to a smarter society and a simpler everyday life for citizens," says Mats Brandt, Vice President for Public Sector, Tieto Sweden.
