Proact’s health care team supports Revalidatie Friesland

Revalidatie Friesland has selected data centre and cloud specialist Proact to provide an enterprise-class platform for its electronic health register application, ChipSoft HiX. Proact has designed and implemented a comprehensive infrastructure solution to ensure that this critical application is underpinned by high performance architecture that can offer high availability.

As Europe’s leading IT service provider, Proact has extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and the HiX application. In addition, Proact was able to utilise its 25 year heritage of successfully delivering IT transformation projects and worked with Revalidatie Friesland to make sure that the solution was implemented seamlessly and then achieved optimal performance.

Revalidatie Friesland has decided to switch from paper-based patient records to the HiX application in order to provide high quality healthcare services while becoming more cost efficient in the process. To support these digitisation efforts, a more robust infrastructure was required that could simplify Revalidatie Friesland’s complex IT environment, which consisted of multiple locations. Furthermore, the organisation needed to integrate the highest possible security standards while supporting all the employees involved in a patient’s rehabilitation process – from the first care-takers to home care workers.

Proact designed the IT infrastructure using best-of-breed components from the world’s leading technology providers. Several product specialists from Proact were involved at this stage to ensure that a best-fit set-up was created in alignment with Revalidatie Friesland’s objectives. A project manager from Proact was also allocated to this work to ensure that all progress kept to strict time, budget and technical requirements.

Revalidatie Friesland now benefits from a robust platform which underpins the HiX environment, achieving a great balance between performance, security, business continuity and cost optimisation. In the coming years, Proact and Revalidatie Friesland will continue to explore the best ways to support the business and IT functions.

Henk Methorst, Head of information and communication technology, at Revalidatie Friesland, says: “We went looking for a partner that knows our industry – and our core application in particular – like the back of its hand. We are pleased to have found this partner in Proact. The consultants we’ve worked with know how to create a cost-efficient infrastructure and how to keep performance to the highest levels. Proact will continue to be our trusted advisor when it comes to supporting our healthcare services with the HiX application.”

Sander Dekker, Business Unit Director of Europe West at Proact, says: “Our service doesn’t stop with implementing the solution. With Revalidatie Friesland, we’re going for a long-term relationship to support the organisation with all its infrastructure needs. With a wealth of experience in healthcare behind us, we’re looking forward to providing advice on any issue this customer might have.”
