intY partners to capitalise on integrated backup and disaster recovery solution

Hybrid cloud data protection vendor, Acronis, says that global cloud distributor, intY, will become its first UK-based distributor to have access to its brand-new service, Acronis Data Cloud, including Acronis Disaster Recovery Cloud. This will allow intY’s partners to capitalise on access to a completely integrated backup and disaster recovery solution which is now available via the intY CASCADE portal.

The new service is one of three solutions sitting under the Acronis Data Cloud platform for service providers. In addition to Acronis Disaster Recovery Cloud, intY partners can access Acronis Backup Cloud, a backup-as-a-service solution for SPs, as well Acronis Files Cloud, a file sync and share solution that simplifies the management of shared data.

Industry data has revealed that organisational outages are becoming more commonplace and can range in costs from $40k to $256k for SMEs, with the average outage taking over two days to recover from.

Because of this, disaster recovery has now become an area of critical importance. Buoyed by the need to strengthen business resilience, the disaster-recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) market is expected to grow from $1.7bn in 2016 to $12.5bn by 2022, as it increasingly becomes a mainstream component of business operations and is now readily offered by service providers.

Aimed at SMEs, Acronis Disaster Recovery Cloud, is a turnkey, self-service solution, built upon Acronis Backup Cloud, that lets users protect their customers’ critical workloads by instantly recovering their critical IT systems, applications and data via the
Acronis cloud infrastructure. The platform helps service providers to drastically reduce their management overhead which results in an improved ROI.

Jan-Jaap Jager, Chief Revenue Officer at Acronis comments: “Today, organisations are becoming increasingly reliant upon the need to access information both internally and externally, which means that when a disaster does strike and that information becomes unavailable, it can cause serious damage to your business and your customers – and this will only heighten under the continued threat of cyber-attacks. Because of this, the implementing effective disaster recovery solutions has never been more important.

“To address this, our new Disaster Recovery Cloud solution, which sits under Acronis Data Cloud, will aim to deliver an easy and intuitive solution for SMEs, providing them with the means to protect their customers critical workloads and allowing them to instantly recover their critical IT systems, applications, and data from the Acronis cloud infrastructure.”

Jager continues: “Through intY, and the CASCADE portal, we are confident that this will provide us with the ideal platform to reach those organisations, who are most in need of an effective disaster recovery solution.”
