Virtual1, a leading digital service provider, will now incorporate Acronis Storage 2.3 into its infrastructure. The complete software defined storage solution allows Virtual1 to swiftly react to customers’ needs in capacity and performance. The option to easily scale their Acronis Backup Cloud capacities and the geo-replication feature help Virtual1 to offer more complete services to their customers. With Acronis Storage 2.3 the service provider replaced their previous iSCSI storage and added S3 capacity for Acronis FilesCloud.

"Acronis's Hybrid model is ideal for our business, it is tailor-made for a wholesale model, with a simple and powerful interface, allowing us to leverage the power of our own network and infrastructure", says Tom O’Hagan, CEO at Virtual1. “It is one of the most thought through channel products that we see in the market.”

Virtual1 was facing an immense data growth – a 100 percent very six months – and was looking for a scalable and easy-to-use solution which could be seamlessly integrated in their own infrastructure. Acronis Storage 2.3 was the product of choice because it met all requirements. It allowed Virtual1 to offer a higher level of backup protection for their customers with the backup data in two of their DC’s using the ABGW geo-replication feature.

Acronis Storage’s ability to provide mixed workloads has enabled the Virtual1 to deploy both iSCSI and S3 storage in the same SDS cluster. This consolidation of storage services gives significant benefits in terms of hardware utilisation and reduced storage management. Since the beginning of the project, two months ago, the capacity requirement has grown around 10 percent.

“Service Providers need to dynamically address new trends and tendencies of the market to provide and uphold user experiences. We are proud to enable Virtual1 to extend their service offerings with Acronis Storage 2.3”, says John Zanni, President at Acronis. “This use case proves that service providers can highly benefit from our solution. With the ongoing enormous and rapid data growth, many service providers face the same challenge: to be flexible and quick enough to react or better prepare for the customer’s needs of today and tomorrow.”
