Civica’s global customer base spans public and private sectors. It provides a range of business-critical software and solutions which help organisations transform the way they work and the services they provide. Civica’s service portfolio includes cloud readiness assessments, cloud migration services, managed cloud solutions and cloud optimisation services, as well as digital and software solutions hosted in the cloud. The breadth of its portfolio enables customers to take full advantage of cloud technology, while mitigating security and compliance risks, to meet citizen, customer and user/employee demand for online services in a controlled and cost effective way.

CIF is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve standards and education in the cloud industry. It provides transparency through certification to a Code of Practice to endorse credible providers of cloud services and, through its Professional CIF Membership scheme, assists end users in determining the core information necessary to enable them to adopt such services with confidence.

John Hood, Civica’s Chief Technology Officer commented on the company’s reasons for joining the industry body: “We’re delighted to be joining the CIF, which works so hard to improve end-user understanding of cloud and raise standards in the industry. Civica not only works with partners in both the public and private sector to make the most of the benefits of cloud but also uses cloud systems internally. We have a shared aim to encourage more widespread and better use of cloud services and technology, and to create an ever-more secure and transparent cloud industry. We look forward to working closely with the CIF and its members towards a fully-sustainable and trusted cloud ecosystem.

“CIF’s Public Sector Special Interest Group, which works to better-align the offerings of Cloud Service Providers with the needs of the public sector, is of particular interest to us and we are keen to add a fresh perspective to this,” John Hood continued.

Alex Hilton, CEO at the CIF, added: “We are thrilled to have Civica join our organisation and offer its expertise on how organisations can safely and confidently transition to the cloud. Compliance and security concerns are prevalent barriers to cloud adoption for many organisations and Civica is an expert in mitigating these issues. Civica strongly adheres to our core principles; transparency, capability and accountability and we look forward to working with them to formulate and share best practices.”
