German IaaS-specialist ProfitBricks has selected Cloudian HyperStore to add object storage to its cloud computing portfolio. With Cloudian HyperStore, ProfitBricks now offers an easy-to-scale solution for customers who require fully S3-compatible cloud storage that is compliant with GDPR.

ProfitBricks selected Cloudian after an extensive evaluation of multiple object storage vendors. Key Cloudian advantages included its modular scalability that allows capacity to be expanded up to a hundred petabytes or more without disruption. Also, Cloudian’s REST-API allowed for easy integration with ProfitBricks’ automated processes that accelerate routine management tasks.

Because ProfitBricks’ registered office and data centers are entirely within German borders, their customers are now able to freely integrate public cloud in their storage portfolio environment while remaining compliant with strict German data privacy standards as well as with upcoming GDPR requirements.

Cloudian HyperStore provides the industry’s most compatible storage platform for unstructured data consolidation, supporting use cases that include data protection, network attached storage (NAS) offload, media archiving, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence (AI) and more. HyperStore’s cost-effective entry point and modular scalability make it easy for enterprises and CSPs to get started and then grow seamlessly with expanding demand.

“Under the umbrella of United Internet, that also includes well-known brands like 1&1, 1&1 Versatel and Strato, ProfitBricks is a household brand in Germany’s IaaS-market for medium-sized businesses and enterprises. We are proud that ProfitBricks has chosen Cloudian HyperStore to enhance its cloud offering with our 100% native S3 object storage solution,” said Jacco Van Achterberg, VP of EMEA sales at Cloudian. “This is a validation of Cloudian’s combination of limitless scalability, superior ease-of-use, and unprecedented economics.”

“Our customers needed a storage solution that would be reliable, scalable, and easy to integrate, while enabling GDPR compliance,” said Uwe Geier, ProfitBricks’ head of system operations. “We evaluated our storage options and found that Cloudian, with its modular growth model, 100% native S3 API, and powerful management suite, was the best solution for us. Our implementation proceeded flawlessly, proving that Cloudian is easy to use. Plus, it works seamlessly with our virtual data centre design tool kit Data Center Designer (DCD) and our Cloud REST API. Cloudian was the perfect match for us and for our customers.”
