Sudlows achieve FIRAS certified contractor status

Award-winning critical infrastructure specialists Sudlows have become a FIRAS certified contractor for passive fire stopping, following a rigorous three-stage assessment.

The accreditation was awarded to Sudlows following an assessment of its corporate management systems, site visits and employee competence tests.

FIRAS certification started in 1994 and has been instrumental in improving standards of installation of fire protection products and systems to the benefit of the construction industry and the clients IT services.

FIRAS is a voluntary, third party certification for installation contractors of both passive and active fire protection systems, operated by Warrington Certification, and accredited by UKAS to BS EN 17065.

Sudlows have now partnered with global construction industry service specialists, Hilti, to supply an engineering solution to some of the more complex fire stop requirements its engineers will face on site.

Andy Hanlon, Enterprise Services Director at Sudlows, said: “The FIRAS certification is another valuable addition to our range of accreditation that ensure we are delivering a first-class service to our clients.”

“We look forward to working with our partners to maintain our certification and deliver the latest standards in the industry.”
