Leading provider of uninterruptible power supplies,
MPower UPS, has
taken advantage of the latest advances in virtual reality (VR)
technology to demonstrate its new UPS solutions. MPower can now show
CENTIEL’s leading edge, three-phase UPS system CumulusPowerTM
in three dimensions using bespoke 360° panoramic photography and video
to create a short immersive and interactive film. The result is
delivered to viewers through head mounted displays or VR ‘glasses’.
Michael Brooks, managing director, MPower UPS explains: “CumulusPowerTM is a three-phase UPS system which offers continuous power availability, fault-tolerance and a Distributed Active Redundant Architecture (DARA) which removes single points of failure and is now available exclusively through MPower UPS. Unlike traditional multi-module systems, the CumulusPowerTM technology combines a unique Intelligent Module Technology (IMT), plus DARA, to offer industry leading availability of 99.9999999%. It is a quality solution offering the highest level of power protection and it requires an equally innovative way to demonstrate its industry leading capabilities and this is where the VR idea came in.
“VR provides a new way to engage with customers by delivering a tailor-made demonstration of CumulusPowerTM through absorbing 360° film,” continues Brooks. “We have piloted this at exhibitions over the summer and feedback was positive so we will now aim to roll it out more widely as part of our marketing plan and also introduce it during customer meetings.”
Brooks concludes: “As the latest generation of fault-tolerant modular UPS solutions, CumulusPowerTM will achieve unparalleled availability. Our dedicated team is excited now to introduce the benefits of total power protection to existing and new customers through the medium of VR for the first time.”
