At CeBIT 2017 (March 20 to 24) DataCore Software has taken for the first time its own stand to present major developments in its Hyper-converged Virtual SAN™, SANsymphony™ Software-Defined Storage and Parallel I/O Processing Software. The on-stand highlight of this year’s show is the strategic co-operation to simplify mainstream market adoption with jointly created Software-defined Storage solutions combining DataCore and Lenovo offerings into fully integrated appliances, resulting in the introduction of the Lenovo Storage DX8200D Powered by DataCore™ last week.

This turnkey Software-defined Storage (SDS) appliance leverages Lenovo’s robust server platform combined with advanced storage virtualization software and multi-core optimizing parallel I/O – SANsymphony™ from DataCore Software. Lenovo plans to offer the DX8200D as a pre-integrated appliance, which promises to greatly simplify deployment and reduce management expenses while providing a single point of support.  The SDS appliance powered by DataCore’s advanced enterprise Software-defined Storage services and parallel processing capability, enables data centres to rapidly deploy a turnkey solution that harnesses the capabilities of existing SAN arrays.  It can optimize heterogeneous storage infrastructures, enabling them to scale as needs grow and easily replace older storage arrays. Through the centralized DataCore interface, the DX8200D provides data protection, replication, de-duplication, compression, and other enterprise storage capabilities at a much lower price point than traditional SAN arrays.

“Lenovo’s powerful and reliable servers combined with DataCore’s parallel I/O processing software reset the standard for performance, cost-efficiency and seamless management across the diversity of storage and enterprise-class infrastructures,” said George Teixeira, president and CEO of DataCore Software. “The Lenovo DX8200D powered by DataCore, makes it simple to not only get started with Software-defined Storage, but also to grow and future-proof investments. This turnkey appliance deploys quickly and non-disruptively into any environment, delivering immediate savings and performance benefits.”

In addition, DataCore will introduce updates within its latest product service pack (PSP), further developments of its parallel processing software based on DataCore’s unique Adaptive Parallel I/O technology, as well as on its expanded product portfolio with new bulk storage nodes. This new license model is specifically designed for cost-effective long-term protection and archiving of rarely used data, available through DataCore channel partners at a fraction of the software costs compared to solutions for productive environments.

"At CeBIT 2017, it’s great to be represented on our own dedicated stand. Pre-visitor enquiries show that interest levels are highest in hyper-converged solutions, so we are thrilled to be offering one of the most exciting. It has been proven to deliver the highest performance, best price / performance ratio, and lowest response times ever measured. This is why joint developments with hardware partners such as Lenovo are an attractive offering for our mutual partners and customers," said Stefan von Dreusche, Director Central Europe at DataCore.
