ForgeRock is collaborating with Pivotal, the company accelerating digital transformation for enterprises, to deploy its customer identity and access management solutions to Pivotal Cloud Foundry(R), one of the world's most powerful cloud-native platforms. The ForgeRock Service Broker for Pivotal Cloud Foundry allows externally deployed ForgeRock solutions to protect applications and microservices running in Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Developers working within Pivotal Cloud Foundry can now easily enable a persistent identity that is portable across clouds for people-to-service and service-to-service (API-to-API) use cases.
The ForgeRock Service Broker for Pivotal Cloud Foundry is a lightweight, simple way to protect RESTful microservices, which are becoming an increasingly popular architecture for application development among enterprises pursuing digital transformation strategies. The service broker supports standard identity protocols, including OAuth2, and automates the process of creating OAuth 2.0 client profiles. With this release, enterprise developers have flexible new capabilities for using strong digital identity to secure microservices and applications in support of any number of cloud-based projects for digital transformation and Internet of Things implementations, including connected home, smart car, digital citizen, and more.
"The cloud-native revolution is predicated on the ability of developers to build reliable systems from unreliable components. At the heart of this is the how we combine composable microservices to form highly scalable apps on containerized infrastructure," said Joshua McKenty, head of Ecosystem Engineering at Pivotal. "Federated identity solutions like ForgeRock are a critical component of the overall security posture because they extend identity and policy across the enterprise, simultaneously maximizing access while reducing persistent threats from unsecured access points."
"The software world is rapidly moving to microservices and a persistent identity is essential for securing service-to-service transactions across any cloud-native architecture," said Daniel Raskin, SVP Product at ForgeRock. "ForgeRock's Pivotal Cloud Foundry broker delivers a simple way for developers to easily bring state-of-the-art identity capabilities, including authentication, multifactor authentication, authorization and adaptive risk to Pivotal Cloud Foundry."
