Interoute has formally joined the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), underlining its commitment to supporting and promoting high standards of cloud services delivery.

Interoute’s cloud is integrated into a private network spanning 17 zones across the world. It’s  a key part of the company’s Digital Transformation platform that offers customers the unique ability to bring legacy IT, 3rd party data centre services, cloud and software application developments onto a single global, secure and compliant platform. Interoute is also recognised by Gartner as a Leader in Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting.

CIF is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve standards and education in the cloud industry. It provides transparency through certification to a Code of Practice to endorse credible providers of cloud services and, through its Professional CIF Membership scheme, assists end users in determining the core information necessary to enable them to adopt such services with confidence. The CIF Code of Practice is formally recognised by the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), following in-depth assessment conducted in collaboration with the European Commission and the Cloud Select Industry Group (C-SIG).

Alex Hilton, CEO of the Cloud Industry Forum, said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Interoute, recognised as the Best UK Cloud Service Provider by our independent industry awards judging panel. CIF’s primary goal is to establish robust standards of transparency, accountability and capability across the cloud industry. Interoute has an outstanding record in this regard, so we are very pleased to welcome them to our membership roster. Many businesses are still grappling with how to get the best out of cloud and how it functions, so there is a clear need for some meaningful guidance from the industry. Interoute’s expertise is in helping businesses of all sizes migrate to the cloud and is a very welcome addition to our members list. Interoute will make an important contribution to the work that we do as an organisation in the drive for industry-wide standards.”

Matthew Finnie, CTO at Interoute, said: “Progressive enterprises are embarking on a period of dynamic digital transformation in order to innovate faster and move to a continuous service delivery model. The cloud in all its hybrid forms plays a large part in making this happen. Interoute’s network integrated cloud platform is the foundation for digital transformation and is engineered to bridge the digital divide between legacy IT and agile software developments. We welcome the work CIF is doing to create transparency across the industry and guide and educate businesses in how to get the best out of cloud in the future.”
