Virtual Instruments has introduced version 5.2 of the Load DynamiX appliance operating environment, featuring support for 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40GbE) and 32 Gigabit Fibre Channel (32Gb FC) capable Workload Generation Appliances. The Load DynamiX product suite offers the first and only storage performance validation and analytics solution that supports 40GbE and 32Gb FC workload generation within the same appliance, offering superior realism, extreme performance testing and the industry’s broadest support of storage protocols.

The new 40GbE and 32Gb FC capabilities of Load DynamiX appliances give network and storage vendors access to massive load-generation capabilities, providing an accelerated time to market for higher-performance systems and enhanced customer adoption. Core features of the new 5.2 version of the Load DynamiX appliances include:
·         A customisable interface for simplified modeling, workload generation, analysis and collaboration;
·         Broad protocol coverage that provides rich, accurate emulations of workloads across file, block and object storage; and
·         Up to eight ports of either 32Gb FC or 40GbE per 2U appliance to test even the largest flash storage systems.

“Virtual Instruments and its updated Load DynamiX appliance family are designed to scale to exceed the performance of even the biggest scale-up storage systems, ensuring performance at any production scale. These capabilities underscore the company’s commitment to helping storage vendors and enterprises make the most of their network and storage investments,” said Dennis Martin, founder and president of Demartek, which focuses on lab validation and performance testing of storage hardware and software products.

Virtual Instruments offers the only end-to-end infrastructure performance analytics product portfolio complete with integrated workload analysis, modeling and extreme load generation. The customer-driven company is committed to helping both storage and network vendors and enterprise organisations drive IT transformation across both on-premise and cloud environments. Orderable immediately and available in August, the Load DynamiX appliances are further detailed in this datasheet.

“With the introduction of the 40GbE and 32Gb FC appliances, Virtual Instruments supports the latest in networked storage performance and scalability testing,” said Tim Van Ash, senior vice president of products for Virtual Instruments. “We developed this solution to initially address our vendor customers’ needs for next-generation storage testing within their performance engineering and QA labs. Ultimately, enterprise data centres will also benefit from the extreme scalability, combined with unparalleled realism and ease of use to accelerate and simplify their purchase and deployment decisions.”
