Max headroom? Demolishing mythical data center figures

We are told, over and over again, that moving to the cloud means old ways of looking at IT no longer apply. In a more fluid world, where both the supply of resources available and the demand from applications and the business as a whole can change in an instant, the concepts of physical space and availability are essentially obsolete. However, old habits die hard. Unless organizations can move away from outdated concepts of how data centers and IT infrastructure operate, they will never be able to make the most out of the cloud.
