Launch of new appliance ‘Data lake & analytics factory’ by bullion.

  • 7 years ago Posted in
Through its technology brand Bull, Atos launches a Big Data appliance – the Data lake & analytics factory by bullion. Big-Data-in-a-box:  integrated with the bullion server as an appliance that industrializes data collection, storage and analytics. This significantly enhances data analytics agility, security and efficiency in real-time. It offers organizations fast and cost efficient means to exploit the value of their existing data. The Data lake & analytics factory by bullion is the latest innovation part of the Atos Codex offer.

With the digital revolution, companies have to create more value from their data set on a daily base. Being able to combine cost effective data repository (the data lake) with enhanced analytics is at the heart of the information centric shift enabling better business performance, enhanced operational excellence and business reinvention. According to Gartner, “by 2017, organizations using predictive business performance metrics will increase their profitability by 20%”.

Solution in a box
The Data lake & analytics factory by bullion is a unique solution based on an open architecture, easy to deploy and integrate, embedding a set of advanced analytics tools. It is pre-integrated with the bullion server, the most scalable and powerful server available in the market already used by over 100 million end-users worldwide. The appliance accelerates the benefits of the pre-installed software suite through one stop shop & support, and reinforces the flexibility, security and TCO optimization. With this “solution in a box”, clients can gain agility and save time:
-      A data lake can be created in a few weeks compared to a few months when building own solution,
-      Big Data applications can be deployed in a few days instead of a few weeks or months.

“This announcement is another step towards our ambition of supporting clients in their transition towards Big Data. This Data lake & analytics factory dramatically speeds up Big Data solution implementation with an efficient, secured and performant solution. Thanks to end-to-end integration, from hardware to software layer, we can commit on performance” states Arnaud Bertrand, Senior Vice President for the Big Data & HPC Division at Atos.

An integrated and easy to use software suite
Thanks to the selection of different software and the thoughtful integration, validation and automation, the Data lake & analytics factory software suite dramatically simplifies the shift into the info centric era. This software suite meets the needs of end users and offers:
·         Combined products to very quickly deploy data refining and analytics capacities such as smart log analysis, search and geo localization, key for business users.
·         A state of the art Data lake, based on Hadoop technology, with all the tools to deploy it in a few seconds and easily manage all its lifecycle. This is key for data scientists to minimize the administration efforts and leverage saved time to create value.
·         The capacity to deploy additional components on a self-service catalog model (Hadoop included) thanks to validated and specialized blueprints to improve efficiency and simplify IT operations.
·         A software layer enabling flexibility and scalability to sustain needs and data growth even on various environments (on premise or in the cloud)
