Duo Security expands into European data centres

French & German language support now available for Duo Mobile, authentication and enrolment.

Following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – set to come into effect in 2018) and the anticipated adoption of a replacement to the Safe Harbour program, cloud-based trusted access provider Duo Security is helping customers mitigate the risk in these uncertain times by bringing datacentre capacity online in Frankfurt, Germany, and Dublin, Ireland, to serve European customers.

Duo Security is also adding French and German language support to its Trusted Access solution for the complete end-user experience, including Duo Mobile, authentication, and enrolment.

“The recent regulatory changes around data protection highlight the security benefits of storing and processing customer data locally,” said Henry Seddon, VP EMEA for Duo Security. “The new public cloud datacentres mean we can better respond to the needs of our customers, particularly in the government, financial and insurance industries where data visibility is necessary for compliance reasons.”

Patrick Adriaansen, software division manager at Driessen, an HR services provider and Duo Security customer commented, “Working predominantly with public sector clients in The Netherlands means it is important for us to keep data inside the EU. In selecting Duo, it means that not only do we employ secure two-factor authentication but can also assure our customers their data is held securely within the region.”

The new public cloud datacentres are operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and are being utilized to serve Duo’s European customers.
