NaviSite Europe Limited has been named co-location & hosting provider of the year. The annual SVC Awards highlights the achievements of end-users, channel partners and vendors.
Based at Digital Realty Trust’s state-of-the-art data centres in Redhill and Woking, NaviSite provides scalable, enterprise-class co-location services. NaviSite deploys sophisticated environmental controls to optimise performance and business continuity and designs custom builds to meet individual customer requirements.
Encore Tickets, a specialist ticket company, selected NaviSite’s Managed Mimecast service to underpin its email environment in the UK. With 2.5 million theatre tickets sold through its platform annually and 80 per cent of Encore Tickets’ business transacted online, uptime is crucial to its success. NaviSite’s managed Mimecast service means that even if the email environment goes down, operations can continue. Since the implementation of mimecast Encore Tickets has achieved 99 per cent email retention for the year.
“Our aim is to help our partners to maximise revenues, profits and service levels, and fundamental to our reputation is the resiliency of our email system. We chose NaviSite to manage our Mimecast services because of their experience and track record for this solution. Since deploying NaviSite’s services its technical team has really stood out to us, they provide excellent services and we are confident that they will continue to keep up the 99 per cent email retention that is critical to our success,” said Michael Sheehy, CTO at Encore Tickets.
Virgin Wines selected NaviSite to deliver hosting and managed application support that was affordable, reliable and could help the business grow. The ecommerce wine merchant runs their business solely online so uptime and stability were key priorities in the selection criteria for their new provider.
Virgin Wines deployed NaviSite’s managed hosting and application support to host and manage its web servers, applications servers and database system. Since the implementation, Virgin Wines has been able to successfully sustain system performance at a constant and stable level, seeing it through its most successful and busiest summer trading since the start of the business in 2000.
“As an online service we don’t have that one-on-one customer experience like traditional retailers, so the website experience is very important for our customers. As customers increasingly want services on demand, uptime is crucial. If the platform is down then they will just go elsewhere. NaviSite is always quick to respond to our needs and really understand our business. As we have started to expand our business even further we look to NaviSite to help us increase and scale our web service capacity and performance,” explained David Wyatt, social media and communications manager, Virgin Wines.
“It’s a great honour to be recognised by the SVC Awards for the work we’ve done with both Encore Tickets and Virgin Wines. The cloud computing market is very competitive but we pride ourselves on really getting to know our clients’ business so we can deliver tailored solutions that meet each individual client’s needs,” said Sean McAvan, managing director, NaviSite Europe Ltd.
