Talari Networks, Inc. has announced APN (Adaptive Private Networking) 4.0, the latest version of the operating software that supports Talari’s WAN solutions. APN 4.0 can now support 256 sites (up from 128) with a single instance of the Talari solution.

UniFirst, a national leader in the supply and servicing of business uniforms and work apparel, is the first to deploy APN 4.0 in support of its 200+ facilities throughout N. America. Additionally, UniFirst has deployed Talari’s new network performance monitoring and reporting software, APN Aware (launched in March 2014).

“Talari’s APN is impressive in its ability to combine broadband bandwidth sources with traditional WAN links to create a reliable and affordable WAN,” said UniFirst’s Brian Doiron, Director of IT – Infrastructure and Security. “And combined with APN Aware, we not only have the ability to deploy and configure our network from a single location, but we also have valuable visibility into the network’s performance at a granular level across the entire WAN. This allows us to better monitor and understand the behavior and quality of the links we’re paying for.”

“The introduction of APN 4.0 represents a strategic move for us to expand up market as we continue to grow and attract larger enterprises that recognize the quality and cost saving benefits of using Talari’s APN-driven WAN technology and network performance management software,” said Talari’s CMO Kevin Gavin.

Talari’s patented WAN solution builds a detailed map of all paths through the WAN including a real-time understanding of packet loss, latency and jitter on each path. The APN solution then uses this information to direct WAN traffic down the optimal path based on network conditions and organization policies.

APN Aware is a software-based network performance monitoring and reporting application that gathers the WAN's performance data from every APN appliances in the network and stores it in a single central database. Aware allows IT teams to analyze current and historical network and application performance via interactive graphical maps, graphs and tables that can be displayed from different perspectives. This lets IT teams take action for the purpose of troubleshooting, capacity planning, ROI analysis, and vendor management and SLA enforcement.

APN 4.0 operating software is generally available today and accessible via the Talari Customer Support Portal as a free upgrade for existing customers and APN Aware network performance management software is sold as an optional add-on product.
