Rackspace to support VMware Software-Defined Data Centre technologies

Rackspace will support VMware Software-Defined Data Centre (SDDC) technologies including VMware NSX®, Virtual SAN™ and vRealize® Suite as a part of Rackspace Private Cloud powered by VMware. The offering, available in early access in October 2016, will accelerate enterprises’ journey from their data centres to the hybrid cloud by transitioning on-premises workloads into a Rackspace-hosted SDDC environment.

Enterprise-class Disaster Recovery built on Microsoft Azure

Zerto has introduced Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0 - enabling enterprise-class disaster recovery with Microsoft Azure. This milestone helps enterprises by utilising the Microsoft Azure cloud platform for business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR). Other 5.0 innovations include the industry’s first hypervisor-based “one-to-many” replication for protection of multiple workloads across different datacentre sites, extended 30-day journaling and a new mobile application. Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0 is expected to be generally available in Q4 2016.

MetroNet joins CloudJumper Partner Program

MetroNet  has joined with CloudJumper to become an authorized WaaS solution delivery partner. Through the partnership, MetroNet will now offer customers Office 365, hosted Quickbooks services, and hosted workspace solutions, based on the CloudJumper nWorkSpace™ platform.

Syncsort acquires Cogito

Syncsort has completed the acquisition of Cogito Ltd., maker of specialized software that can access IBM z Systems mainframe data, significantly improve the performance of IBM DB2® and CA IDMS™ database management systems on IBM z/OS, and lower mainframe costs for the world's largest enterprises. This is Syncsort's third acquisition of a UK-based mainframe software company, all of which deepened its capability to bridge the gap between Big Iron and Big Data.

BSO launches ‘Gateway to Mexico’

All-new Haltian small sensors utilize Wirepas Connectivity

Haltian expands its Internet of Things (IoT) platform with small sensors. The platform consists of the Thingsee gateway plus the Thingsee POD and TAG sensors. The sensors can be used for tracking and monitoring assets, goods and people in a completely new, and a far more cost-effective manner. The Thingsee router delivers the data collected from the sensors directly to the client’s back-end systems via a mobile connection.
