A top broadband communications company and a global mobile services company have deployed Violin’s flash storage platform (FSP) in their enterprise data centre environments.
Both companies have previously deployed Violin all-flash array solutions and are adding Violin’s FSP to consolidate and simplify their primary storage data centre workloads to achieve significant performance improvements, and take advantage of proven opex savings including power, cooling and floor space.
As a top broadband communications company serving nearly seven million customers, this Violin customer needed predictable and sustained performance with scalability for customer growth. Violin’s 7700 FSP was designed specifically to meet the demands for ultra-high levels of reliability and availability with zero down time and zero data loss, which made it an ideal solution to help this customer deliver customer satisfaction, realize opex savings and remain competitive.
Delivering mobile services to more than six million customers meant this Violin global customer needed to provide exemplary customer service and support to remain competitive. Implementing Violin’s 7300 FSP meant the company could more effectively manage a large production Oracle database and re-launch a customer service application resulting in high customer service satisfaction. In addition, the Violin 7300 FSP enabled the customer to more efficiently manage their online billing applications and gain insight to more effectively manage their business.
“Large IT operations in the biggest companies around the world recognize the performance and value advantages of moving primary storage applications to flash. At the same time, they also recognise the need to integrate flash solutions that are designed specifically to meet a wide range of enterprise applications today and can scale to meet future requirements as well,” said Kevin DeNuccio, chief executive officer, Violin Memory. “We continue to work closely with our customers to maximize the business value of flash storage in their unique global business environments.”
Violin FSP optimized solutions transform the speed of business, combining a wide variety of comprehensive enterprise class data services that encompass data protection, storage efficiency and business continuity with performance and density under a dual-everything flash fabric Architecture. Leading brands can integrate Violin’s optimised FSP technologies to lower the acquisition cost and total cost of ownership (TCO).
